Transportation sector: DPM Union Minister inspected transport and communications

The Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Transport and Communications Admiral Tin Aung San inspected work implementations of technological department of Myanmar Post and Telecommunications under the Ministry of Transport and Communications and met with the responsible persons from the domestic airlines and Airport Operators at the meeting hall of the Civil Aviation Training Institute of the Department of Civil Aviation on 8th July.

The Union Minister and party arrived at the technological department of MPT situated near Hanthawady roundabout, Kamayut Township of Yangon Region and the General manager and officials clarified the distribution of mobile telecommunication vehicles and satellite dishes to Rakhine State prior to the landfall of Mocha cyclonic storm, repairing of communication towers and stations within a short time and substitution of fiber cables which are better than the existed ones and the related sectors.

In responding to the clarifications, the Union Minister gave the necessary instructions to the responsible officials.

Next, the union Minister inspected the work implementations of technological department, equipments installed and the emergency communication equipments and Services and the responsible officials took the Union Minister and party around the department.

Next, the Union Minister and party arrived at the international departure terminal and the responsible officials clarified the Services of the related airlines and the security measures and the Union Minister coordinated requirements.

Afterward, the Union Minister met with the responsible persons of the airlines, airport operators and security responsible personnel. At the meeting the Union Minister said the department of civil aviation is a regulator representing the State for the safety and security of the airport and flights in line with the standardizations of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), law and by-laws, Chairman of the State Administration Council gave the guideline for the convenience of the passengers and good Services and disciplines of the airlines and airport operators, the airlines are urged to implement the Codeshare to reduce the cost, coordinating with the airlines by the department of civil aviation for slot allocation etc.

Then, the attendees from the airlines and airport operators clarified the status of flights of the airlines, rendering Services for the passengers and the safety and security measure for the flight and passengers and the Union Minister coordinated the requirements for the difficulties facing and fulfilled necessary matters.
