


The Ayeyawaddy Bridge (Thayet-Aunglan) is under construction in Thayet Township ofThayet District in Magway Region and the construction works for this bridge started in the 2017-2018 fiscal year.
According the official of the Department of Bridge under the Ministry of Construction, construction works will continue with the available funding of 17.5 billion Kyats during the 2022-2023 fiscal year.
Responsible Person, Department of Bridge, Ministry of Construction said “The ongoing construction works will continue with 15.5 billion Kyats of union funding and 2 billion Kyats of regional funding. The construction has now been 52% completed. Tenders will be invited to carry out the iron frame works of this bridge by the Department of Bridge. We have been working in accordance with COVID-19 rules and regulations. Upon completion of the bridge, people will be able to travel between Thayet and Aunglan townships in a short time.”
The Ayeyawaddy Bridge (Thayet-Aunglan) will become one of the important bridges that lie on the economic corridor road that connects Kyaukpyu Special Economic Zone with Shweli (Ruili) passing through Thayet, Aunglan and Nay Pyi Taw.
The bridge is a steel frame arch bridge and has a total length of 2,272.5 meters with 8.5-meter-wide road and a meter wide pedestrian path on both sides of the bridge.
This bridge construction will be continuously implemented depending on the yearly available budget funding.
