Transport Sector: SAC Chairman inspects railroad upgrade work

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspected the Pinpet-NaungKar-Taunggyi-ShweNyaung-Tharsi-Myingyan railroad upgrade work.

At the briefing hall, the Senior General heard reports on matters including completion of implementation of instructions given by the Senior General, preparations for the operation of electric trains, toe wall, waterproofing walls, drainage pipes, drainage canals and bridges construction and the upgrade works.

In his response, the Senior General stressed that it is necessary to properly build the railways to improve their resistance. In order to be able to upgrade the railways in the future, it is necessary to set the railway lines in advance and carry out the markings in an orderly manner.

It is necessary to increase the speed of trains and carry out safety activities. Preparations are also being made regarding electric train operation. The Senior General also urged railway engineers to have a comprehensive discussion to upgrade the railways.

All railways in the country must be set as the primary goal to drive at a speed of 100 km per hour. And, the Senior General inspected the Pinpet-NaungKar-Taunggyi-ShweNyaung-Tharsi-Myingyan railroad upgrade work before providing cash assistance to concerned officials and staff.
