






Member of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communication General Mya Tun Oo visited Yangon Railway Station on Saturday to inspect the renovation works at the platform for hosting the DEMU coaches.
The Union Minister then took a train ride from Yangon to Bago to observe the higher-speed operation resulting from the completion of Phase 1 of the Yangon-Mandalay Railroad Upgrading Project. Along the route, the Union Minister instructed for cleanliness along the railroad for convenience of the commuters and inspected the handling of Relay Interlocking System at Kyauktan Station.
On arrival at Bago, they inspected the damaged site between Bago and Shwe Hlay Stations due to the recent floods. They then visited Bago Station Yard, and observed the handling of Electronic Interlocking System and operation process at the control room.
In the afternoon, the Union Minister met with departmental personnel at the Bago City Hall, and urged all to strive for self-improvement and capacity building. The Union Minister later visited the Regional Post Office, and heard reports on postal services. He then took a train ride from Bago to Yangon, to oversee the work progress of the project.
