Transforming Education: International Youth Day Observed

With the theme, “Transforming Education”, the International Youth Day was observed at MICC-2 in Nay Pyi Taw, Monday with an address by State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. At the event, the State Counsellor said that Myanmar left behind in development as well as in education and efforts need to make reforms in the nation’s education sector for the youth.

The main point of education system is to gain knowledge and to raise people horizon and education can make right decision how to overcome the difficulties. She also added that the government part is responsible to establish the best education system for the youth and the youths need to try hard for their education.

She also emphasized on all inclusiveness for reforming process in the nation’s education sector development and urged teachers and students to cooperate in progress of the nation’s education sector. She also invited to give suggestions on the strong and weak points in the academic sector and the ways to improve effective teaching system.

She also highlighted on strengthening and improving public schools in the nation and find out solutions for better education system through reform process and adopting accurate and right policies.

She called for the education departments to cooperate in reform process for the nation’s education sector development. After that, the State Counsellor, the Union Ministers and concerned officials took documentary photos together with representatives from Youth Affairs Committees, women and youth organizations.

The State Counsellor later viewed around booths of Region and State Youth Affairs Committees, booths on Youth and Tourism and ethnic traditional culture.
