Training of Trainers (TOT): Training of Trainers (TOT) on Legal Awareness opened

The opening ceremony for the "Training of Trainers (TOT) on Legal Awareness for Grade-11 and Grade-12 Teachers," jointly organized by the Ministry of Legal Affairs and the Ministry of Education, was held at the Mingala Byuha Sasana Beikman Hall in Pyinmana, Naypyidaw on December 2nd.

The event was attended by Chairman of the Naypyidaw Council U Than Tun Oo, members of the Naypyidaw Council, Mandalay Region government members, Region Advocate General, legal officers, district legal officers, departmental heads from Naypyidaw, district and township general administrators, district and township education officers, and trainees.

In his opening speech, Naypyidaw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo highlighted that with the implementation of the new curriculum, KG+12 students now begin their basic education at the age of five and will reach Grade 12 at the age of 18. By this age, students are eligible to vote and enter the workforce. He emphasized that every citizen who turns 18 must understand and comply with the nation's legal framework, including the 2008 Constitution and election laws. The objective of this training is to introduce legal education in basic education schools, ensuring that students acquire essential legal knowledge.

Mandalay Region Advocate General U Myint Aung also elaborated on the objectives of the training. This was followed by an explanation of the training procedures and regulations by Dr. Kyaw Lwin, Director of the Naypyidaw Education Office.

Afterward, U Than Tun Oo, along with council members, Mandalay Region officials, and other responsible individuals, posed for a group photo with the attendees and warmly greeted the participants.

The TOT program for legal awareness, running from December 2nd to December 8th, will train 210 Grade 11 and Grade 12 teachers from eight townships in Naypyidaw.

Additionally, as part of the lead-up to the 2024 International Day of Persons with Disabilities, a sports competition and award ceremony organized by the Naypyidaw Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities was held at Paung Laung Sports Ground in Pyinmana Township, Naypyidaw.

Chairman U Than Tun Oo and officials observed various competitions, including senior and junior running events (male and female), 50-meter wheelchair races (male and female), and shot put (male and female). Following the events, they awarded medals and cash prizes to the winning athletes with disabilities, recognizing their achievements and promoting inclusivity.
