The closing ceremony for the training course on "Twisting technique of lotus thread (warp)" using lotus thread, organized by the Magway Region Small-Scale Industries Department, was held at the training hall of the department. The event was attended by Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin, Region Government Ministers, region-level departmental officials, and trainees.

Initially, Chief Minister U Tint Lwin delivered an opening speech, stating that today, the training course on "Spinning technique of lotus thread (warp)" was provided by the department to villagers from Shan Ywa Gone Village near Wett The’ Kan Lake in Salin Township, Magway Region.

He explained that the training aimed to enable the villagers to produce value-added, market-ready fabrics by utilizing lotus fibers extracted from Wett The’ Kan Lake, converting them into lotus threads, and weaving them into lotus thread fabrics. Previously, they could only weave lotus scarves using perforated threads, but through this training, the trainees have been taught the Spinning technique of lotus thread (warp). This enables them to work with both warp and perforated threads, allowing them to weave an entire lotus scarf and, subsequently, various types of lotus robes and lotus thread fabrics.

Following this, Daw Su Su Khaing, Director of the Magway Region Small-Scale Department, presented a detailed explanation of the activities related to the lotus thread training course. The Chief Minister and members of the regional government then distributed lotus weaving looms and related materials to the trainees.

Afterward, on behalf of the trainees, one trainee expressed gratitude for the establishment of the training course. The Chief Minister and responsible officials observed and encouraged the trainees as they worked with lotus thread equipment, including lotus weaving looms, perforated weaving looms, and thread-spinning looms. It was learned that the training was conducted for 10 trainees from Salin Township, Magway Region, over the course of one week, from March 4 to March 10, with instructors providing both theoretical and practical lessons.
