





A meeting was held on Sunday at the National Sports Stadium (1), Thuwanna in Yangon to discuss preparations for the 33rd SEA Games, set to take place in Thailand in December 2025.
Deputy Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Htein Lin addressed the importance of Myanmar's participation in the upcoming SEA Games, highlighting the country's preparations in various sports. He noted that athletes for 12 sports are undergoing training in Nay Pyi Taw while 5 sports in Yangon.
Due to the challenges posed by the recent earthquake on March 28, which had disrupted training camps, 8 sports from Nay Pyi Taw will now be relocated to Yangon for continued training.
The Deputy Minister assured to provide accommodation and meals for athletes in Yangon and urged all to ensure the relocation training for these sports before the Thingyan holiday. The attendees reported on the preparations for the SEA Games, including accommodation, nutrition, and equipment as well as for organizing the national and regional competitions in Yangon in preparation for the SEA Games.
The meeting also focused on detailed planning for the transfer of athletes and necessary sports equipment. The officials stressed the importance of preparing athletes for success in the upcoming SEA Games and achieving high rankings in various sports. They discussed the need for continued collaboration and support to achieve winning medals in the competition.
