Training on anti-money laundering Kachin State CM gave an address the opening ceremony

The awareness training on anti-money laundering and combating the financing for gold entrepreneurs and General Administration Department personnel was conducted at the Kachin State Government office on Monday. The training, organized by Kachin State Government, was attended by Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister emphasized the negative impact of money laundering which led to cause the economic instability, judiciary sway, banking system instability, high crime rate and national security. He added that the Government enacted Anti-Money laundering law and by-laws, signed international agreements and became a member of international organizations in a pursuit to combat money laundering effectively. He urged all trainees to spread their knowledge gained and called exerted efforts to eliminate money laundering in the state in cooperation with State/District/Township Supervisory Boards and real estate agents.
After that, the Chief Minister presented the memorable gifts to the trainers. Deputy Director of the General Administration Department clarified the purposes of the training course.
This training on anti-money laundering is opened for second time to spread anti-money laundering knowledge and to raise awareness of money laundering and terrorist financing for staff and gold dealers. Plans are underway to conduct more training courses on AML (Anti Money Laundering) and CFT (Counter Financing of Terrorism).

The Chief Minister, accompanied by Chief Justice of State High Court and concerned officials proceeded to the exam centers of Myitkyina Basic Education High Schools and observed the exam taking students.
Upon the arrival at No. 1 Basic Education High School (Myitkyina) University, the Chief Minister and party inspected the memorial stone pillar marking 100th anniversary and the library’s construction site.

And, they continued inspection of No. (9) Basic Education High School and encouraged the exam taking students in addition to fulfilling the needs. A total of 5,747 students took the 2024 matriculation exam in 27 examination centers peacefully in Kachin State.
