Training and Meeting: Legal awareness program and investment matters

The closing ceremony of batch-2 “Training for Trainers” Program for legal awareness of Grade 11 and 12 teachers took place at the hall of No. 8 Basic Education High School in Mawlamyine Township on December 4.

Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein attended the ceremony together with Chief Justice of the State High Court, Ministers and many other concerned officials. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said as legal sector is crucial for a nation, and every citizen is responsible to understand the law and abide by it.

The TOT program for legal awareness is conducting nationwide under the guideline of sharing legal knowledge for Grade-11 and 12 students. Implementing legal awareness program for students could help assist in implementing the country’s rule of law and justice. It was followed by presentation of honourary awards to 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners and consolation prize by the Chief Minister and certificates were presented to the trainees.

A total of 116 teachers from basic education schools and private schools attended the training on legal awareness, conducted from November 26 to December 6. In the afternoon, the Chief Minister attended the meeting of Mon State Investment Committee held at the hall of the state government office.

The Chief Minister in his capacity as Chairman of the committee prioritized the needs for production of local products, calling for local and foreign investments for the development of country’s investment sector. After clarification made by the official from Investment and Directorate of Investment and Companies Administration, the Chief Minister coordinated the requirements and concluded the meeting.
