Traditional Thingyan Festival: Peaceful Thingyan to be celebrated

Due to the recent devastating earthquake, there has been significant loss of life and injuries in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, as well as in the Sagaing, Bago, Magway, and Mandalay regions, and Shan State.

As the entire nation is in mourning, this year’s Myanma Traditional Thingyan Festival will be observed as a Peaceful Thingyan, in accordance with tradition. The celebrations will exclude joyful activities such as singing and dancing.
