




In celebration of A-Tat Day or Ascending Day of Myanmar New Year Thingyan Festival, Ministry of Industry's Thingyan festival was organized at the Ministry's office in Nay Pyi Taw, on April 16. Union Minister Dr. Charlie Than, Deputy Minister U Yin Maung Nyunt, directors-general, managing directors, officials, staff, and their family members participated in the festival.
Firstly, the Union Minister stated that although there were casualties, and destruction of offices and buildings due to a very severe earthquake, as it is a Myanmar traditional heritage, the Maha Thingyan festival is being held in a simplified manner.
He expressed his joy that all the staff and their families at the Ministry are meeting in good health and unity during the Myanmar traditional New Year Maha Thingyan Festival for Myanmar calendar year 1386. He wished that they may handle their workplace and family matters happily and joyfully, that their good wishes and desires may be fulfilled, and that they may be safe from diseases and dangers.
After conveying these New Year blessings, they celebrated the Peaceful Thingyan Festival according to Myanmar traditional culture. The participants in the Peaceful Thingyan Festival were also hosted with traditional Myanmar foods.
