Traditional Medicines: MOALI Union Minister visits National Herbal Garden

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation U Min Naung visited the National Herbal Garden in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday. Officials provided update reports on the cultivation of herbal plants effective against six major diseases prevalent in Myanmar, as well as herbal plants for malaria and tuberculosis (TB) and rare herbal plants.

The Union Minister instructed the standardization of the display of herbal plants while striving to enhance the thriving of the plantations. He also instructed efforts to raise public awareness about the benefits of herbal plants through educational displays and the distribution of pamphlets.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation is arranging plots for herbal plants effective against malaria and TB in the National Herbal Garden. Additionally, rare herbal plants, medicinal orchids, seasonal crops, and perennial crops are also being cultivated in the garden.
