The head of Toyota Motor said the firm is considering importing its US-made vehicles to Japan to deal with the Trump administration's tariff measures. President Sato Koji said Toyota would still contribute as a member of the US auto industry. But he acknowledged that the company is facing a challenge regarding the import-export balance.

Bringing US-made Toyota models to Japan will help Washington cut its trade deficit. He added that the Japanese government should take the initiative in creating an environment that will enable automakers to import their US-made vehicles.
