Towards Stability and Democracy: Prime Minister's Message on Mon State Day

Chairman of the State Administration Council, Prime Minister Senior General Thadoe Maha ThayaySithu Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma Min Aung Hlaing, sent a message on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary Golden Jubilee of Mon State Day.

The Prime Minister conveyed his wishes for the well-being and prosperity of all Mon nationals and the entire populace of the nation. He highlighted the historical significance of Mon nationals as early inhabitants of Myanmar, tracing back to the existence of Thudhammawady Town before the time of Gautama Buddha.

Emphasizing the honorable fact of Mon people in preservation of religion, literature, culture, and art, the Prime Minister underscored the country's journey towards a democratic system founded on justice, freedom, and equality, in alignment with the aspirations of its people.

The Prime Minister identified armed conflicts, political discord, dictatorship, disunity, self-interest, and resource depletion as key challenges hindering stability and progress. He called for all citizens to uphold the spirit of unity and encouraged armed groups to seek resolution through dialogue as per the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA). Stressing the importance of cooperation for achieving stability, tranquility, and lasting peace, the Prime Minister urged all to collaborate in an effort for socio-economic development, prosperity, and food sufficiency, paving the way for a genuine multi-party democracy based on democratic and federal principles.
