Tourism Sector: Over 20,000 Travelers From April to July

During the 2022-2023 Fiscal Year, 22,241 travelers entered Myanmar via international airports from April to July. Among them, 12,944 are Business Visa users, 2,407 are Tourist visa users, 962 are diplomatic and official visa users and the rest are other types of visa users.
Director, Hotels and Tourism Supervising Department, Nanda Aung said “Foreigners from 64 countries visit Myanmar using Tourist visas and most of the tourists are from China, Thailand and India. We have operated relief flights for our nationals to be able to return during the COVID-19 pandemic period. After re-operating commercial flights in 2022, the tourism sector is raising its head again. To ensure the safety of local and foreign travelers, officials from hotels and tourism sector are trying their best to provide the best services in line with the COVID-19 prevention guidelines.”
Ministry of Hotels and Tourism also conducted COVID-19 prevention and control training courses for relevant departments and organizations to ensure the safety of travelers.
