Tourism Sector: over 169,000 visitors arrived from 17th April to 14th Sept

There were over 17,000 of foreign visitors with business visa and over 4,800 with tourist visa in Myanmar at the time the government allowed the entrance of tourists and foreign visitors across the country from April to till the 14th September in 2022.

Nanda Aung, Director, Directorate of Hotels & Tourism (Yangon) said "Starting from 17th April to 14th September this year, there were over 135,000 locals and over 34,000 foreign visitor arrivals in Myanmar. The total of over 169,000 visitors arrived. Among them, 80 percent of locals and 20 percent of foreign visitors and most of the visitors came with business visas. Most of visitors are from China who came with business visas. "

Over 4,800 visitors from 72 countries entered with tourist visas and it was 14 percent. Most of the visitors are from Thailand.
