Tourism Sector: MoHT Union Minister received Russian Ambassador

Union Minister for Hotel and Toursim Dr. Thet Thet Khine received H.E. Mr. Iskander Azizov, Ambassador of Russian Federation at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on 10th November.

At the meeting, Union Minister Dr. Thet Thet Khine extended words of greeting and the matters to be implemented after the Familiarization Trip-FAM Trip, exchange visits of the tourists from the two countries, to organize Virtual Tourism Forum included by the government and private sectors, to form the working groups included by the government and private sectors to accelerate the tourism industry of both countries, to fly direct flights to the tourist destination areas of both countries, to boost advertisement of destinations and the continued cooperation for the development of tourism industries of the two countries were mutually discussed.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister attended the ASEAN Tourism Ministers’ meeting held in Hybrid system in conjunction with the ASEAN Transport Ministers’ meeting held in person hosted by the rotating Chairmanship of the Minister of Public Works and Transport of Lao PDR in Luang Prabang City.

At the meeting, Union Minister gave a speech regarding with development of tourism industry and transport industry in ASEAN Region. The meeting was attended by the ASEAN Transport Ministers and Tourism Ministers, ASEAN Secretary General, ASEAN Tourism Industry Authorities, ASEAN Transport high ranking officials, high ranking representatives of member countries, representatives from International Air Transport Association, Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA).
