Tourism sector: MoHT Union Minister received delegation of ACC

Union Minister for Hotel and Tourism U Aung thaw received a delegation led by the Secretary General of ASEAN-China Centre Mr. Shi Zhongjun at the Ministry, Nay Pyi Taw at noon on 21st July.

First, the Union Minister extended greeting and the Secretary General of ACC discussed that the ASEAN-China Centre is an inter-governmental organization constituted with 11 countries including ASEAN member countries and China.

The ACC is implementing the mutual cooperation in six sectors including trade between ASEAN and China, investment, Education, Culture, Tourism industry and media sector. This trip is taken to boost the cooperation among the ministries and relevant sectors in Myanmar. The human resource development trainings are being given with the cooperation of the ministry.

The Union Minister discussed the ministry is willing to closely cooperate with ACC for more visits of Chinese tourists and promotion of tourism industry, the ministry is focusing on the boosting of domestic tourism while implementing more arrivals of international tourists, the Ministry is implementing the Familiarization–FAM Trips included relevant market countries and media to spread the true situations of the country as the false information on Myanmar are being circulated.

There is a willingness for cooperation with ACC by implementing joint-projects for the China’s tourism market. Next, the ACC secretary General said the Ministry will be invited for the international tourism expo, festivals and trade fairs to be organized in the People’s Republic of China and will cooperate in the Familiarization –FAM Trip.
