Tourism Research Center: MoHT conducts the basic and intensive trainings

The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism is endeavouring for the tourism sector development of Myanmar in all sectors.

For strengthening statistics on tourism industry and developing policies and projects, the correct and exact statistical data plays an important role in the planning and implementation of the projects, said by the Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr. Htay Aung at the opening of the Basic and Intensive trainings to implement the establishment of Tourism Research Center under the Mekong-Lanchang Cooperation Special Fund (2021).

The ceremony was held at the Jade hall in the ministry through hybrid system on Tuesday. At the event, the Union Minister said that in making research, the research quality can be defined depending on the statistic data and the data will be collected carefully and kept systematically.

It needs to expose the effective market strategies and to expand the new businesses by solving the economic challenges. After resuming international flights, the market situation can be estimated by making research on the data of international tourists.

The issues can be solved by evaluating advantages and disadvantages, opportunities and challenges as well as analyzing the secondary data in addition to the primary data. The Union Minister stressed the needs on making research in effective ways and future plans and urged the trainees to share and apply the knowledge learned from the course at the practical field.

Later, the project leader of the Tourism Research Center reported the facts about the training. This basic training course will be conducted from the 4th to 7th October and the intensive course will be opened for 4 weeks from October 11th to 28th.

Method analysis based on building design for the research, collecting data and preparing for survey questionnaires, research ethics and online/field practices will be taught by using software at the training.

The staff from the Ministry, instructors from Mandala University and the National Management Degree College (Yangon) and representatives from Myanmar Tourism Federation, totaling over 70 trainees will attend the course through hybrid system.
