







With the aims at systematic implementation of tourism industry related MSMEs of Myanmar, dissemination of knowledge on the market penetration for MSMEs products and the development of tourism related MSMEs, in the implementation of National Activities Project 2023 of ASEAN-Japan Center program for 2023 fiscal year, the Ministry of Hotel and Tourism organized tourism related MSMEs Workshop at Tungapuri Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on Tuesday and was attended and gave a remark by the Union Minister Dr. Thet Thet Khine.
In her opening remark, the Union Minister said that the Ministry has been granted two projects: Tourism related MSMEs development and Human Resource Development. Those projects intended to disseminate business insights beneficial for the domestic MSMEs and to create establishing network.
As the Tourism industry is vital for the economic development around the world, it’s needed for the long-term sustainability and the tourism industry can create the opportunity for the development of MSMEs. According to the report of World Tourism Organization, tourism industry creats 320 million jobs globally and it represents 10% of World GDP.
MSMEs are the driving force for the economic development of the country. After giving a remark by the Programme Director of ASEAN-Japan Center Mr. Chairat Liengkajornkiet, documentary group photo was taken. In the afternoon, the Union Minister attended and gave a remark at St. Petersburg-Myanmar Tourism Industry Development Seminar via online from Nilar Hall of the Ministry.The seminar was attended by theHead of the Representative Office of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in St. Petersburg Mr. Vladimir Zapevalov, Myanmar Ambassador to Russian Federation U Thit Lin Ohn, Myanmar consul General in St. Petersburg U Aung Pe Thet, Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Mr. Nikolay Bondarenko through Hybrid system and the Ambassador of Russian Federation to Myanmar Mr. Iskander Azizov sent Video message.At the seminar, the Union Minister gave a remark on the matters of Russia-Myanmar cooperation for the development of tourism industry and tourism industry promotion video was shown.
