Tourism Promotion: NPT tour package & St.Petersburg-Myanmar Tourism

Aiming for convenience of international visitors who pay visit to destinations in Nay Pyi Taw with the arrangement of travel companies, the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism held a coordination meeting with Myanmar Tourism Federation and Affiliated Associations, and Thai Tourism Service companies at the Ministry on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister Dr. Thet Thet Khaing said that Nay Pyi Taw Council Area is a central point which connects with famous tourist destinations in Myanmar. With smooth transportation access, it possesses 38 tourist destinations including the Maravijaya Buddha Image, World’s Highest Sitting Marble Buddha Image. She added that Nay Pyi Taw won ASEAN Clean Tourist City Award 2022. She also said that it is necessary to implement for development of pilgrimage tour package between Myanmar and Thailand as the two countries have same religion and culture.

She urged all tourism companies to promote tour destinations by drafting travel plans. Then, Deputy Minister U Phyo Zaw Soe made explanation upon working processes of arriving international visitors with charter flight to Nay Pyi Taw, circumstances to be undertaken by the Thai Tourism Service companies and plans for more entry of foreign visitors to Nay Pyi Taw. After hearing the reports by the Chairman of Myanmar Tourism Federation and officials from tourism companies, the Union Minister coordinated the requirement and gave closing remarks.

In the afternoon, the Union Minister joined St.Petersburg-Myanmar Tourism Development Forum under the arrangement of the Committee for External Relations of Saint-Petersburg of Russia Federation via online.  During the occasion, the Union Minister discussed matters on tourism cooperation between the two countries under the MoU on Tourism and convenience travelling of Myanmar and Russian visitors to tourist destination in Russia Federation including St.Petersburg and Myanmar.

She also called for cooperation of all concerned personnel in an effort for development of Myanmar and St.Petersburg tourism sector. According to agenda, FUN SUN Tour Operator from Moscow based St. Petersburg office shared the experience on travel diaries to Myanmar and advantages. And, the forum concluded after questions and answers session.
