Tourism Promotion: Ayeyawady Region sees increased visitors this year

Arrival of visitors local and foreign visitors to Ayeyawady Region has increased this year, compared to the previous year.

According to the statistics, 2019 recorded the most tourist arrival to Pathein, Chaungtha and Ngwe Hsaung Beaches in Ayeyawady Region with about 650,000 visitors the whole year.  This year could exceed the 2019 record since over 550,000 visitors have received in the region as of October.

From January to October this year, over 258,000 local and foreign tourists visited Chaungtha Beach while about 201,000 visitors came to Ngwe Hsaung Beach. On 19th November, Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr Htay Aung met with hoteliers, tour agencies and local people from Ngwe Hsaung and Chaungtha Beaches in Ayeyawady Region.

The Union Minister said along with the progress of tourism industry, it is needed to strive for development of other related sectors. He urged the hoteliers and tour agencies to use local and regional products in order to achieve socio-economic development of local people.

The Union Minister also pointed out the need to apply for HSP Certificates for providing better services to the tourists, and to carry out the CSR activities for the benefits of local people. The Union Minister and Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win presented HSP Certificates to the hotels that meet the criteria for health and safety protocols.

The Union Minister and party also held a meeting with hoteliers, tour agencies and local people in Pathein and urged all to strive for providing better services to the visitors  with innovations so as to attact more tourists. The Union Minister also presented HSP Certificates to the hotels that operates accordign to the health and safety protocols.
