Tourism Industry: Meeting with officials from foreign investment hotels

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism Dr. Thet Thet Khaing met with the officials from foreign investment hotels at Inya Lake Hotel in Yangon on Wednesday.

During the meeting, the Union Minister said that this meeting was held to implement the decisions made in the previous meeting effectively, and  improvement of private sector makes the country’s development.

She also said that cooperative efforts are needed in implementing the matters related to visa extention for more entry of international visitors, currency exchange and convenience of visitors.

It is also needed to make preparations for the development of tourism sector of the border areas. She also urged the departmental staff from the Ministry and officials from the private sector to try hard in implementing Familiarization – FAM Trip Program.

And, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry shared the experiences of China Trip and clarified the project to attract Chinese and Russian visitors to Myanmar. After hearing the reports of the attendees, Union Minister coordinated the requirements.
