Tourism Industry: Discussion on COVID-19 Myanmar Tourism Strategic Roadmap (draft)

A discussion on the draft of COVID-19 Myanmar Tourism Strategic Roadmap was held on Friday.

Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Ohn Maung said the Strategic Roadmap includes self-finance and stimulate package which needs to be implemented as an immediate action in the survival stage. At the re-opening stage, it includes relaxing of lockdown and quarantine plans to be implemented as a short term from 3 to 6 months. At the Re-launching stage, it includes re-inventing Myanmar tourism and relaxing of regulation which needs to be implemented in 6 months to a year. The meeting aims to finalize the detailed plans of the strategic roadmap and all are urged to suggest the needs for the survival of the tourism industry.

Chairmen and members of the Myanmar Tourism Federation and partner associations discussed the work undertakings and challenges and also suggested for the strategic roadmap.

Deputy Minister U Tin Lat also discussed for designating standards for COVID-19 safe services and conducting capacity building training.

The Union Minister coordinated the needs.
