Tourism Development: Plans for booming tourism in Shan State

The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism is making efforts to develop tourism in southern and eastern Shan State. Deputy Minister U Phyo Zaw Soe visited Nyaung Shwe and Kengtung to oversee arrangements for tourism development.

The Directorate of Hotels and Tourism in Nyaung Shwe is operating an information counter to provide useful information about tourist destinations to both local and foreign visitors. Plans are in place for the Cultural Museum in Nyaung Shwe to become an attractive destination for tourists, featuring displays of utensils, clothing, and documentary photos of Shan Chieftains.

Additionally, community-based tourism has been implemented in Kengtung, alongside the establishment of a recreational resort for visitors, providing better services for relaxation. Pilgrim tours are also being considered at the Buddha Park, and sightseeing tours are planned to enjoy the beautiful sea of clouds.
