Tourism Development : Over 69,000 visitors flocked to Sagaing

A total of over 69,000 local and foreign visitors flocked to 6 tourism destinations in Sagaing Region between January and June 2023, according to an official of Sagaing Region Directorate of Hotels and Tourism.  

The 6 tourism zones are Sagaing, Monywa, Shwebo, Katha, Kalay and Khamti zones and among them, Sagaing zone is the famous tourist zone in the region. There are 61 licensing hotels and guesthouses and 45 are currently operating under the Sagaing Region Directorate of Hotels and Tourism in 11 townships.

More than 480 tourists visited with tour packages in the site of Mingun, Sagaing Region and a total of 1,200 foreign tourists visited between January and June of this year.

The Directorate of Hotels and Tourism has been opening tourism service courses for hoteliers, including occupational safety and health administration training and service for disabled tourists and trainings in Monywa, Sagaing, Kalay and Shwebo Townships as well as training courses for local guides in Mingun.
