Tourism Development: Myanmar-Russia Tourism Promotion Familiarization Trip

Aiming for promotion of Myanmar-Russia Tourism Development, Myanmar-Russia Tourism Promotion Familiarization Trip (FAM Trip) program was conducted with the comprised of tour operators and tour agencies from Russia.

On October 25th, Deputy Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Phyo Zaw Soe met with the representatives of the FAM Trip in Yangon, along with the Business Matching.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Minister said efforts are being made for strengthening cooperation between Myanmar and Russia Federation through mutual understanding, friendship and collaboration.  To be able to visit the major tourist destinations in a short time, Yangon-Pathein-Nyaung-U-Mandalay route started its operation starting October 13th.

Moreover, in order to penetrate tourism market in Russia and promote tourism sector, the Ministry has been participating in Moscow International Travel Fair since 2015.

In addition, accelerated efforts have been made to conduct Familiarization Trips, while participating in the meetings and forums on tourism development via online and in-person as well as Road Show and international fairs hosted by Russia.

The Deputy Minister added that the 5th National Sport Festival is scheduled to be held in coming December and implementations are underway to invite guests from Russia. He called for strengthening bilateral ties between Myanmar and Russia in cultural and tourism exchange.

After delivering the speeches by Chairman of Myanmar Tourism Federation and officials from Russian Embassy in Myanmar, officials from Central Bank of Myanmar, Myanma Insurance and Airlines answered the questions raised by representative from Russia. Then, the Business Matching followed, with the participation of the Russian Tour Agencies and hoteliers and tour companies from Myanmar.
