On February 24th, Union Minister for Hotels and Tourism, Dr. Thet Thet Khaing, along with Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win, visited ChaungTha, and held a meeting with departmental personnel, hoteliers, and tour agencies.
During the meeting, the Union Minister emphasized the importance of cooperation among all stakeholders to maintain the current status of ChaungTha Beach, which attracts numerous local travelers, while also focusing on marketing efforts to allure foreign visitors.
He stressed the need for entrepreneurs to consider the interests of the local community and environmental conservation in their pursuit of sustainable tourism development. Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win elaborated on the development of new tour packages in the vicinity of ChaungTha Beach, initiatives for cleanliness and beautification, human resource development, and overall progress in the hotels and tourism sector within the Ayeyawady Region.
Following a general discussion, the Union Minister and Chief Minister coordinated the needs. After the meeting, the Union Minister inspected New ChaungTha Hotel to assess its facilities for visitor convenience. The following day, on February 25th, the Union Minister conducted inspections at various hotels in ChaungTha and ShweTaung Yan Beaches, focusing on arrangements for eco-tourism and adventure tourism, at the Sea & Lake Resort.
Upon arrival in Pathein, the Union Minister met with the Pathein District Tour Management Committee, hoteliers, and officials from hotels, guesthouses, and restaurants. Stressing the importance of collaboration, the Union Minister called for cooperation of all stakeholders for the development of tourism in Pathein.
The visit also included an observation of the facilities at Shwe Moat Htaw Pagoda and the recreational spots along the Strand Road, highlighting the ongoing efforts to enhance visitor experiences in the region.
