




To promote tourism development in Mandalay Region, Deputy Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Phyo Zaw Soe made inspection tour to the landmarks of the region on 18th February.
Firstly, the Deputy Minister visited Maha Myatmuni Buddha Image to inspect the Tourism Information Center which was established to provide easy access of destination places to the visitors along with the provision of pamphlets relating to tourism statistics.
On arrival at U-Bein Bridge, the Deputy Minister oversaw the recreational facilities for the visitors and souvenir shops. On February 19th, the Deputy Minister attended the opening ceremony of Chinese Culinary Training at Jin Taw Yan Chinese Buddhist Temple and delivered a speech. Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Minister said this year marks the 75th Anniversary of China - Myanmar diplomatic relations, and the training course was opened with the collaboration of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism, China-Myanmar Friendship Association (Mandalay) and Fuqing International Language School in connection with the Yunnan Economics Trade and Foreign Affairs.
The training courses will be conducted in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Bagan and Yangon with the aims for skill enhancement of the staff in preparing, cooking and serving food to the visitors as part of providing best services.
During the training period, the staff can be able to learn methods of cooking technique from international chefs along with the exchange of experiences. The training is scheduled to be opened from 19th to 25th February with the attendance of 82 trainees.
In the afternoon, the Deputy Minsiter met with the businessmen and hoteliers and explained the ministry’s efforts in implementing for more entry of international visitors. He added that preparations are needed for domastic visitors to be able to provide better services for the convinence of the visitors. He stressed the need of collaborative efforts between all private and government organizations for sustainable development of country’s tourism industry. After hearing the work completion, current and future work plans, reported by the attendees, the Deputy Minister coordinated the requirement.
