Tourism Development: Efforts for promoting transnational tourism

The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism organized a coordination meeting on the entry and departure of tourists through border gates on Thursday.

Union Minister U Aung Thaw discussed that during the 14th Meeting of the Myanmar-Laos Border Authorities at the Central Level, Laos proposed the entry visit of Lao nationals and other tourists from third countries via Myanmar-Laos border gates.

He added that the ministry has been implementing the transnational tourism, and this proposal could help support the development of tourism sector. He urged all concerned persons to cooperate in getting ready for the tourists once the implementation commenced.

The attendees later discussed the opening of border gates between the two countries, entry and departure of tourists through border gates and extended permission of tour packages.
