Tourism Development: Effective implementation of Strategic Action Plan

The Ministry of Hotels and Tourism has drafted a Strategic Action Plan for speedy recovery of hotels and tourism industry in Myanmar that has been affected by COVID-19 pandemic.

On Wednesday, a coordination meeting for effective implementation of the action plan was held at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw. Union Minister U Aung Thaw discussed that the Ministry is striving for attraction of more tourists at the tour destinations, increased arrival of more foreign tourists and promotion of tourism industry.

He urged all concerned persons to cooperate in its efforts for tourism development. The attendees discussed matters on advertisements for tourism information, health, safety and transportation, granting entry visa, loan disbursement for SME businesses, organizing the trade fairs, easing restriction for improved investments, currency usage and conduction language training.

The meeting concluded with the closing remarks by the Union Minister.
