Tourism Development :Deputy Minister visits Chaung Tha and Shwe Thaung Yan Beaches

Deputy Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Phyo Zaw Soe held a meeting with departmental personnel, industry representatives, and stakeholders in Chaung Tha on January 10th to discuss strategies for enhancing tourism in the region. During the meeting, the Deputy Minister highlighted the accessibility of Chaung Tha Beach, just a 5-hour drive from Yangon, making it an ideal destination for both weekend and weekday visits.

Emphasizing the potential for attracting local and international visitors, U Phyo Zaw Soe encouraged collaborative efforts in developing appealing programs and activities. Attendees provided updates on ongoing initiatives and future plans, and the Deputy Minister addressed coordination needs. Following the meeting, U Phyo Zaw Soe inspected the implementation of the Hotels Guest List Management System, visitor arrangements, beautification projects, and swimming pool construction.

During his visit, he extended support to military officers and personnel at the Guest House of the Southwest Command who had sacrificed during defense duties. The Deputy Minister provided cash assistance to them who are on a recreation trip.

In the evening, the Deputy Minister visited Shwe Thaung Yan Beach, inspecting hotels and resorts and urging officials to utilize the Guest List Management System, apply for Health and Safety Protocols certificates, promote local MSME products as souvenirs, and leverage various channels for promotional videos. On the 11th, U Phyo Zaw Soe continued his tour, inspecting New Chaung Tha Hotel and the Chaung Tha Branch of the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism.

He also inspected the Information Counter to provide data for tour destination to the visitors, and met with the officers and staff. Following this, the Deputy Minister visited Aung Mingala Island and made inspection.
