





For tourism development and keeping cherry trees in Loimwe hill station of eastern Shan State, 5-day cherry flower festival is going to be held.
All local and foreign visitors are invited to join and observe as tour businesses will be promoted as well.
This year is the second time. Loimwe hill resort town is standing as one significant destination of eastern Shan state, which is around 19 miles away from Kengtung. The festival can support local products to be more marketable along with the region development.
Cherry wines including self-made ones, and local products like dried tea leaves and damson, as well as selling booths displaying the traditions of indigenous ethnic people around the region are included. In fact, Ahkar and Larhu nationals live in the region also. For tourism promotion, there is also a village beside Buddha Park where CBT was implemented and it is about to become special destination around Kengtung Township.
At the 5-Day Cherry Flower Festival which is going to be held from 19th to 23rd January, the National Literature and Culture Associations will be performing with the traditional dances, it’s learnt.
