





On October 26, Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than visited the Ceramic Wares Factory in Hlaing Township, Yangon where he received reports on the factory's operations in the meeting hall.
The factory has been hired to a private company for production of rubber related products. After reviewing the reports, the Union Minister stated that leasing state-owned factory and workshops to the private sector aims to develop industries and meet public needs. He urged factory staff to work diligently on import substitution productions.
The Union Minister later inspected the production process of rubber based foot wares. Upon arrival at the Research Center in Insein Township on October 27, the Union Minister heard reports on research activities related to new medicine production, MSME products and wastewater management.
He called for increased research efforts to develop necessary new medicines. Next, the Union Minister visited the laboratory where the Deputy Director General reported on its construction and future operations. Following the report, the Union Minister instructed obtaining international certifications, developing plans for chemical product testing and ensuring systematic management of laboratory equipment.
The Union Minister then proceeded to the Insein Pharmaceutical Factory to inspect production processes for timely medicine delivery ordered by the Ministry of Health.
