Tour in Yangon: Inspection at marine facilities and meeting staff in Yangon

On 11th August, member of the State Administration Council, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Transport and Communications General Mya Tun Oo accompanied by the concerned officials visited Myanmar International Terminal Thilawa- MITT in Yangon Region and made inspections.

First, he heard reports on the work implementations presented by the relevant officials at the meeting room. Upon reports, the Union Minister stressed the crucial role of private terminals and encouraged to emphasize on public-private partnership, continuously observing the events happening within the region and across the world.

Subsequently, the Union Minister and party inspected the handling capacity of the MITT Jetty, Wilmar Myanmar Jetty, Thilawa MPA International Terminal (TMIT) Jetty and the fuel distribution at Padauk ShweWah Company Jetty. 

On arrival at Myanmar Maritime University, the Union Minister and party met with the rector and faculty members, and gave necessary instructions on offering courses and trainings in accordance with the international standards and providing effective and comfortable learning environment to the students.

They then inspected the e-library system and documents and papers management of the library and the practical training system of the simulator training room of the university.  Later, the Union Minister and party met with the concerned officials under the Ministry at the Myanmar Port Authority Office in Kyauktada Township and instructed to nurture the new generations to become the qualified civil servants and to apply team work in implementing tasks.

On the same day, the Union Minister and party visited the Department of Marine Administration where he heard reports on Integrated Vessel Monitoring and Tracking System and instructed the effective usage of the system collaborating with the relevant departments.

On arrival at the Directorate of Water Resources and Improvement of River Systems in Pazuntaung Township, the Union Minister and party inspected the office buildings and the expansion process of concrete dockyard at the Pazuntaung Creek Bank.
