Tour in Tianjin: Myanmar delegation attends WVTEDC 2024 in China

Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than who is currently in Tianjin of China to attend the 2024 World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference, paid a visit to Tiankai Higher Education Innovation Park together with the delegations from other countries on November 20th.

Union Minister Dr. Charlie Than met with the principal of Guangxi Economic and Trade Vocational Institute and cordially exchanged views on skill enhancement in vocational training.

On November 21st, the Myanmar delegation attended the opening ceremony of 2024 World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference.

After delivering speeches by high-ranking officials, the conference commenced under 6 titles. During the conference, Union Minister Dr. Charlie Than participated in the session on Policy Development and Innovation in High-Skill Talent Cultivation, and made discussion.

Subsequently, Deputy Minister for Education Dr. Zaw Myint joined the session on Industry-Education Integration Promoting High-Quality Vocational Education and made discussions about the MSME assisted degrees and diploma training courses opened at some universities under the Ministry of Education. 

Then, the Union Minister for Industry together with the Deputy Minister for Education attended the minister level round table discussion.

On the same day, the Union Minister attended final event of World Vocational College Level Skills Competition and Awards Presentation Ceremony. There, the Union Minister presented award to 3rd prize winning team including students from Myanmar studying in China, representing Zhejiang Polytechnic University of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. After attending the closing ceremony of 2024 World Vocational and Technical Education Development Conference on November 22nd, the Union Minister visited Tianjin Foreign Studies University, and toured around the university compound, making encouragement to the students learning Myanmar language. 

On November 23rd, Myanmar delegation arrived back at Yangon International Airport and welcomed by officials from the Ministry of Industry and Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar.
