Tour in Tachileik: Census enumeration and rehabilitation works

On 4th October, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung accompanied by state ministers and officials oversaw the 2024 population and housing census enumeration in Say Khan Ward of Tachileik District, Shan State (East).

Then, the Chief Minister and party inspected the silt and debris management process in San Sai Basic Education High School and coordinated requirements on systematic clearing tasks. They then inspected inundated areas near Nagar HnaKaung Monastery. Next, the Chief Minister and party visited a relief camp opened at Tachileik District Stadium in San Sai Ward and gave words of comfort to the flood victims and provided foodstuff.

There, the Chief Minister also instructed on opening of temporary schools and necessary books and stationery provision, ensuring uninterrupted education system. Subsequently, the Chief Minister and party inspected the water pumping process of an overflowing creek in San Sai (B) Ward and fulfilled necessities.

Later, the Chief Minister and party inspected the flood affected No. (1) Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge, heard reports on preparations to construct concrete gravel retaining wall to prevent flooding in PoneHtun and Tar Law wards and provided necessary instructions. They also inspected the condition of the flood affected Tachileik District Immigration and Population Office.

It’s learnt that plans are underway to construct 60 ft and 140 ft high Concrete Gravel Retaining Walls beside and under No.1 Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge as well as 1,400 ft high Concrete Gravel Wall behind Allure Hotel.
