






Acting President and Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing made inspection in Pyin Oo Lwin on Wednesday.
The Acting President and party visited Sin Lan Dam and heard reports on water supply for sufficiency of drinking water and irrigation purpose, upgrading of the facility and construction of new dams and spillway. The Acting President discussed that the new facilities could help supply sufficient water for drinking and irrigation purposes, contributing to ensure local food sufficiency through year round cultivation.
It will also provide sufficiency of drinking water to the future increased population, while supporting the projects like Flower City and Coffee City as well as the tourism industry. The Acting President and party later inspected the storage of water in the dam and upgrading of the spillway.
They then viewed the development of the region along the route from Ward (19) to Ani Sakhan by a motorcade. At Sitha Spillway, they inspected the upgrading of the facility. They then proceeded to Sitha Dam and Sitha Supporting Dam, and heard reports on field inspection for forest coverage, scrutinizing through RS and GIS technology and Landsat satellite map, forest conservation efforts, formation of forest reserves and protected forests and inspection at the vacant lands.
The Acting President instructed for growing pine trees for greening and beautifying, while planting forest plantations in north, northeast and southern areas of the city. He also pledged to provide necessary assistance for forest projects, ensuring greening environs for the benefit of the local populace.
The Acting President and party then inspected the inflow of water into the dam and storage condition. On arrival at the Ani Sakhan Airport, the acting President heard reports on construction of apron and airport building, and instructed for long term durability of the facilities. He added that upgrading of Ani Sakhan Airport could contribute to the development of tourisim industry and commodity flow, leading to the development of Pyin Oo Lwin.
