







Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visited the Locomotive Factory in Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday.
The Prime Minister and party observed the DEMU coaches to be used along Yangon-Mandalay Rail Section. These coaches have been purchased from Japan, while some manufactured locally. Officials explained the process of manufacturing DEMU coaches at Myit Nge and Nay Pyi Taw Locomotive Factories.
The Prime Minister instructed for constant maintenance of rail roads, engines and coaches since rail transportation is a reliable system for the nation. Stressing the needs to study the research technologies in rail sector, the Prime Minister called for systematic utilization of railway areas with pleasant landscapes.
The Prime Minister urged all to strive for transforming the rail industry to be in par with international community, providing better and convenient services for the commuters.
The Prime Minister and party later proceeded to the National Museum (Nay Pyi Taw) and heard reports on preservation tasks for historical, cultural and ancient structures, and plans for construction of detoured rail road in Taungoo.
The Prime Minister expressed the need to safeguard and preserve the historically prominent palaces of the country, stressing the exploration of Taungoo Palace and Kaytumady City Wall along with the Moat. He also called for compiling necessary data and evidence for reconstruction of Si Shay Bridge in Mandalay Palace without damaging its original design.
For the construction of Taungoo Station and detour rail road, the Prime Minister urged officials to excavate farmlands in advance along with the annexed town plan, to ensure long term sustainability. The Prime Minister later took a tour around the National Museum (Nay Pyi Taw).
