








Delegations to the 4th BIMSTEC National Security Chiefs’ Meeting visited Maravijaya Buddha Image, the tallest of its kind in the world, at Buddha Park in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.
The delegations were briefed on the aim of establishing the Buddha Image, phase by phase construction process, current maintenance works, establishment of stone inscription stupas and organizing of religious occasions through video presentation.
During the visit, the delegation observed the architectural designs of 24 repositories, Aggadipadhi Sasana Beikmandawgyi and 720 stone inscription stupas, depicting treatises in Pali and Romanized Languages.
Earlier in the day, wives of the heads of delegations visited Uppatasanti Pagoda, observing the life story of Buddha portraying in Myanmar arts and crafts, and making cash donations. They also visited the Royal White Elephant Hall in the precinct of the pagoda and fed the royal white elephants. The delegations also visited the Myanmar Gems Museum (Nay Pyi Taw) and National Museum.
