A Recognition Ceremony in honor of Sayadaw Bhaddanta Santavara Bhivamsa, the Patron Sayadaw of Khema Thiwun Pariyatti Monastery in Myitkyina, Kachin State took place on May 25.

The Sayadaw was conferred the "Abhidhaja Mahā Raṭṭhaguru" title by the State. The ceremony commenced with the recitation of “Namo Tassa” three times. The congregation led by member of the State Administration Council Daw Dwe Bu observed the Five Precepts administered by the presiding Sayadaw.

A brief biography of the Sayadaw was then read out in tribute, followed by a devotional chanting of auspicious verses dedicated to the flourishing of the Sasana. On behalf of the State Government, the Minister for Social Affairs presented religious matters.

This was followed by presenting of the honorary certificate, insignia, and offerings to the Sayadaw. In addition, donations were made to support the successful holding of the honorary title recognition ceremony.

Then, the merit was shared and day meals were offered to the Sayadaws and the Sangha. The Council member and party later visited the Youth Rehab Center in Nan Kyin Village and provided cash assistance for the youths who in turn performed with the Dhamma songs.
