Tour in Mogaung: Kachin State Chief Minister inspects the development works

Kachin State Government is providing assistance for boosting agriculture production for local food sufficiency. On August 16th, Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan visited Mogaung Township in Moenyin District to inspect the cultivation of monsoon paddy.

On arrival at Pinbaw Village, they met with the community elders, village administrators, local villagers, teachers and social organizations, and urged all to make collaboration for development of education, helth and socio-economic status. Cash assistance were also presented during the meeting.

After the meeting, the Chief Minister toured the classrooms at the village high school and encouraged the students. They later inspected the silting process along the Thae Phyu Creek, which is the major water source for monsoon paddy fields in Pinbaw Village-tract.

On arrival at Yay Twin Kone Village, they oversaw the thriving monsoon paddy plantations and silting process the main canal from Thae Phyu Creek Diversion Weir. The Chief Minister and also inspected the monsoon paddy plantations in Panglong Village and Ingyinkone Village and construction of concrete canal.

At Hteechaint Village, they met with farmers and provided the needs for agriculture and development works, assisting the fertilizers. They later oversaw the demonstration of broadcasting fertilizer, and educative program on using combined fertilizer.

In Sar Hmaw Village, they observed the pig farm, and provided assistance. They later arrived at Aung Tha Village, and met with the member farmers of Aung Chan Tha Cooperative Assocation. Officials provided update reports on the agriculture sector, and provided fertilizer for the farmers. They then oversaw the thriving paddy plantation of the member farmers.

During the inspection tour, the Chief Minister presented provisions to the flood affected victims due to the surge of Nant Kaung Creek. In meeting with farmers in Nant Hlaing Village, the Chief Minister coordinated the needs for agriculture, development works and education sector. After the meeting, they viewed the thriving plantation of high yield monsoon paddy.
