











Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw, together with members of the regional government and officials, visited Leshi town in the Naga Self-Administered Zone on Saturday. He attended a coordination meeting with township departments, town elders, and Naga literature and cultural groups.
Officials presented development updates, preparations for the election, and progress on organizing the 2026 Naga Traditional New Year Festival. Naga elders and cultural groups also discussed development needs and festival planning.
Regional departments then explained the ongoing development projects in the Naga area. During the event, the Chief Minister and officials provided 1 million kyats each to security personnel, township staff, and cultural groups. Quality seeds, paddy varieties, and agricultural supplies were also provided to the farmers.
The Chief Minister later discussed that peace and stability are essential for development in the Naga region. He encouraged residents to expand agriculture and livestock activities, grow oil crops and kitchen crops, and work to improve livelihoods.
He pledged that the regional government will continue supporting infrastructure, education, health, agriculture, livestock, and MSME development in the area. He also urged cooperation to successfully celebrate the 2026 Naga New Year Festival and to prepare for the upcoming 2025 general election.
After the meeting, the Chief Minister inspected the festival grounds in Leshi, including booths, cultural displays, the main stage, and traditional museum preparation. Later, he visited test voting activities using MEVM at the Leshi Town Hall to encourage voters and election officials. He also inspected Voter List Phase-2 announcements at Polling Station No. (1), where local residents were checking their names.
