Tour in Keng Tung : Religious event and opening of hospital in Buddha Park

A ceremony to enshrine the repository at Lawka Thrapu Pagoda was held at the Buddha Park (Pan Kwe) in Keng Tung of Shan State (east) on Saturday. 

The congregation led by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife, received the nine precepts from the Patron Sayadaw of TuuYar တူးယား Monastery. The laypersons later offered holy flower, water, thread and sand to the members of the Sangha and the congregation listened to the Parittas. 

After performing the religious rituals, the Prime Minister offered the gem studded crown, repository items and offertories to the members of the Sangha. The council Joint Secretary and members, Union Ministers and attendees also donated offertories to the members of the Sangha. 

After listening to the sermon by the Pro-Rector Sayadaw of Shan State Buddhist University (Taunggyi), the congregation shared the merits gained. In the subsequent ceremony, the Prime Minister and party conveyed the gem studded crown and repository items, in a clock-wise procession. 

At the auspicious time, the Patron Sayadaw of Sila Dhamma Konetha Tawya in Keng Tung and the Prime Minister enshrined the gem studded crown and repository items. After the ceremony, the Prime Minister and party paid homage to the Lawka Tharapu Pagoda. 

On separate occasion, a ceremony to open the Sila Dhamma Hospital was held in the Buddha Park. During the construction process of the hospital, health care services were provided to the patients by setting up the Sila Dhamma Clinic. The hospital aims to provide health treatment to ethnic communities from Pan Kwe  Hill and nearby areas as well as the visitors to the Buddha Park. 

It will also facilitate teleconsultation with the local and international medical experts. The hospital is comprised with the Intensive Care Unit, patient wards and operation rooms.
