Tour in Hpa-An: Releasing fingerlings, meeting farmers, sports and Don dance

A ceremony to add fingerlings into ThanLwin River was held at Tayoat Hla Electric Water Pumping Station in Hpa-An Township on Friday.

The ceremony was attended by members of the State Administration Council Mahn Nyein Maung and Khun San Lwin, Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs Jeng Phang Naw Taung, member of the Central Advisory Board of the State Administration Council U Saw Tun Aung Myint and Kayin State Chief Minister U Saw Myint Oo together with many other officials.

In Kayin State, Hpa-An and Kyone Doe fish farms produces 13 million fingerlings with 2 inches size, and 5.2 million among them are planned to add in natural creeks and rivers within the state. 700,000 fingerlings have already released so far.

During the ceremony, the SAC members and party added 100,000 fingerlings to Thanlwin River. Then, the SAC members and party inspected water pumping process using 4 sets of 37 KW motors for distribution of irrigated water and coordinated the requirement.

During the meeting with farmers from eight villages in the township, the SAC members and party provided 300 fertilizer bags. They also oversaw the demonstration of fertilizer application at monsoon paddy fields.

On November 7, the SAC members and party enjoyed traditional Lethwei Competitions at football field in front of Kayin Students Yeiktha in commemoration of the 69th Kayin State Day. They also enjoyed the Don Dance competition by 9 dance troupes at Thiri Ground and presented honourary awards to the participating teams.
