Tour in Chuxiong: Myanmar delegation in China

A dinner reception in honour of the Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn was hosted in Chuxiong on 13th November.

The delegation was in China to attend the China-Myanmar Cultural Exchange Week 2024. During the dinner, the attendees were entertained with traditional cultural performances of Chuxiong County and Myanmar artists. The delegation later visited Taiyangli Park and Planetarium Museum of Yi Tribe.

The 300 acres wide park was constructed in 2008 for recreation purpose of locals and tourists alike. It features a huge flower pots surrounded by six flower pots representing six ethnic tribes residing in the county. Locals use to celebrate various fun activities and ritual events annually.

The museum also displays the Solar Calendar, invented by Yi tribe. This solar calendar is one of the five calendars invented in the world. A major renovation for the recreation park and museum was carried out in 2016, along with the annual maintenance tasks.
