










member of the State Administration Council Mhan Nyein Maung attended the opening ceremony of Buddha Pujanina Festival of Maha Makuta Ramthi San Taw Shin Myat Maw Tin pagoda at the Zee Chaing Village-Tract of Nga Pu Taw Township is being held from February 27 to March 15.
The opening ceremony of the festival took place at the pagoda with the attendance of member of the State Administration Council Mhan Nyein Maung and officials.
After formal opening of the ceremony, the SAC member and party paid homage to the pagoda and offered fruits, oil lamps, water and flowers. This was followed by the consercration ceremony led by the State Ovada Ceriya and Patron Sayadaw of Nyaungpintha Pariyatti Sarthintaik in Pathein.
In the subsequent ceremony for merit sharing, the congregation recited Namo Tassa three times and received five precepts delivered by the members of Sangha.
Then, the SAC member, the Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister and party offered offertories to the members of Sangha, supplicated religious affairs and presented certificates of honour to the well-wishers for their donation.
The SAC member and party later inspected completion of 207 feet long retaining wall at Myat Maw Tin Soon pagoda and gave necessary instructions for long-term durability of the facility, meeting the set standard.
The SAC member and party later proceeded to the Basic Education High School in Hainggyi Kyun, met with the teachers, school welfare committee members, town elders and students who will sit for the matriculation exam. He made encouragement to the students and provided nutritious foodstuff and cash awards.
There, the SAC member and party oversaw the learning condition of the local residents under sustainable education program, made discussions on their understanding of learning processes and provided foodstuff. They then inspected the project site for better drainage system in Nga Pu Taw Township. An official reported on the construction of 550 feet long retaining wall to prevent from inflow of silt along Hainggyi creek.
The project is being implemented with the allotted budget of regional government in 2024-2025 fiscal year.
The SAC member instructed for timely completion of the tasks meeting the set standard. On February 26, the SAC member and party paid homage to Maha Makuta Ramthi San Taw Shin Myat Maw Tin pagoda and heard the reports on renovation and preservation processes of the pagoda and gave necessary instructions.
