








Hailing the 63rd anniversary Peasants’ Day, the village electrification was launched in Ngatesu Village of Yaykyi Township in Ayeyawady Region on Saturday.
Member of the State Administration Council Mahn Nyein Maung attended the ceremony and took part in ceremonial ribbon cutting event, together with Ayeyawady Region Chief Minister U Tin Maugn Win and officials. With over 114 million kyat budget allotment from the regional fund during 2024-2025 fiscal year, 200 KVA transformer was built, along with the stringing of one-mile long 11 KV power line.
The project electrifies 178 households in the village-tract, with the installation of 45 electric meter boxes. Likewise, a river water pumping project was launhced in Kanyin Ngu Village, and the council member urged the locals to maintain the facility for long term durability.
The project will benefit 1,000 acres farmlands, and plans have been made to cultivate 500 acre summer crops during this year. After the ceremony, the council members and party oversaw the thriving paddy plantations in the model plot.
In Kyun Daunt Village, the council member and party inspected the harvesting of winter crops which yields 168 tons raw peanuts per acre while 150 tons of dried peanut. They then visited the oil mill and viewed the opertion process.
On February 28th, the council member and party visited Wahdu Village and oversaw the preparation measures for organizing the 63rd anniversary Peasants’ Day. The ceremony will feature crop plantations, booths of departments and MSME businesses, farm implement and agricultural inputs as well as the educative booth. They then proceeded to Than Hlyet Sun Village in Thapaung Township and inspected the thriving sunflower plantations.
