As of mid-June, Indonesia reports a total of 799 dengue deaths and predicts number of dengue cases will rise during the dry season than the previous year. The Ministry of Health reveals that there are two main factors which cause the surging death toll and dengue cases in 2024.

The first factor is the high rainfall in early 2024. Water from the rain can cause puddles to form, which will allow mosquitoes to breed.  The next one is having many national agendas such as the 2024 general elections in which the campaign activities have made people lax in their observance of dengue.
